September 09,2020: Meghalaya High Court te ekta Public Interest Litigation (PIL) file kura toh Hindus, Niam Khasi, Niam Tynrai and Songsarek nimete minority    status dibole  nimete  file kurishe.

Delina Khongdup   Shillong-based advocate aro social-political activist para PIL file  kurishe Meghalaya High Court te aro koishe  ki  Hindus aro dusra  indigenous religious communities Niam Khasi, Niam Tynrai, Songsarek, etc khan  Meghalaya laga  minority te nai.

Public Interest Litigation toh file kurishe  etu  bi Section 2(c) National Commission for Minority (NCM) Act arbitrary aro  contrary Articles 14, 15, 21, 25, 26, 29 & 30 Constitution hisaab te.

Delina Khongdup para petition te koishe”Manu khan chiristianity community  laga  kuntu toh  Meghalaya  laga majority religion toh minority religion laga laaph pai thakishe  etu te  manu khan   actual  minority  religion laga  etu te Niam Khasi, Niam Tynrai, Songsarek, etc minority schemes laga  ekta bi laaph paanai.”

Etu petition te koishe  ki 2011 census hisaab te etu religion-wise population Meghalayate: Hindu: 11.53%, Muslim: 4.40%, Christian: 74.59%, Sikh: 0.10%, Buddhist: 0.33%, Jain: 0.02%, Other Religions: 8.71% and Not Stated: 0.32% ase.

Petitioner koishe  Notification dated 23.10.1993 te faundamental rights ke violate kura ase.etu toh equality, justice, and secularism laga khilaaf te ase  aro ami khan   laga  constitution laga  goals khan ase.

Petitioner para Meghalaya High Court ke minority laga  thik definition mangishe    aro  guidelines olable  koishe state level nimete identification  nimete Article 29 and 30 Constitution of India laga   provision te.
